Image Within Your Imagery

Part 1

Good Morning,

I pray blessings have been upon your life since my last message. Today I’d like to talk to my young men and women. As I look out in the world I noticed how much imitation within our community as a result of music and television. I wanted to give you a closer look at this and begin to dissect what you may or may not that you are representing. Many of our young men have begun to dress exactly as they see in music videos and television. Many of these images are disturbing because they are tied to the kingdom of darkness but it is being placed in the mind of society as the newest trend of fashion. Images are constantly being posted via facebook with young men sagging pants, gangsta appearance, and bottles of liquor in their efforts to turn up as they would say as well as our women. The problem with this image is many are overlooking the fact that everything has something that represents it. In most of the music the lyrics suggest violence, drunkenness, murder, homosexuality of women, illegal activity, being high, and it’s associated with a certain look that embraces the culture of it. Many will repeat many of the lyrics of these songs with understanding that your world is framed by what you say according to Mark 11:23. If you repeat the negatives of this music then surely they will come to pass in your life. Don’t be surprised when something happens unexpectedly but know it was either of a seed you had sown or the words that proceeded out of your mouth as stated in Matthew 12:36. These things I stated before have nothing to do with the kingdom of God according to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Also in Galatians 5:19-21 in states those involved in these activities will not inherit the kingdom of God. So if these things aren’t of God and he will not allow an entrance of those involved then these things must be that of the kingdom of darkness. The words and representation of the image is that of kingdom of darkness in which his sole purpose in to destroy you while keeping you in agreement by representation. Why is it that so many of our young men are representing this culture (kingdom of darkness) without hesitation? There has to be a lack of understanding of what you are doing and whom you are associating yourself with. In Hosea 4:6 it’s stated that people will perish for a lack of knowledge. This culture is that of one that is boastful of material things and its glamor has no real value. It’s deceitful in its nature seducing others to engage in behaviors and ideals that make them feel associated (i.e tattoos) with this culture which isn’t of God (1Corinthinans 6:19). Even our young women have become targets for the lust and pleasure of this culture. Ladies because of the image you imitate in the music you see and some of the shows you watch it opens the door for you to be accessible to fulfilling the desires of men lust, pleasures, and completely discredits your true worth and value. Ladies please understand you can be sexy and classy without being skimpy with your appearance. You will still be wanted without having to sleep with other women to please a man, without drunkenness, without being a side chick, and without allowing your self-esteem and values to be compromised for the fulfillment of a man in your life. Truth be told your value is so precious that a man’s life is determined by the quality of his wife. I pose the same question to you ladies today, “Why are so many of our young women imitating a culture that operates and promotes the kingdom of darkness?” This very kingdom strips you of everything God says you are as long as you operate in it or pledge your allegiance to it by the replication of its imagery. Are you seeing the picture now? Everything has an image that represents it!! We must be careful of things we tend to duplicate because they are a representation of who we serve. In the next part of this message we will look at what God says we are according to 1 Peter 2:9. God is a God of order, structure, and honor therefore we should present ourselves so that our image reflects we are part of the Kingdom of God and heirs to the promises of his Kingdom.

Quote: The danger with these images is the next generation has already begun to duplicate the image. If they never have a picture of true men begin men of God then how can we expect them to go further then we have. Stop hindering and start mentoring!! ~d.taylor

Committed

Good Morning,

I pray blessing over your life and peace has been within you since my last message. Today I want to talk to you about your commitment to God. Many of us are committed to our jobs and other things we have to take care of. What is amazing is that many times we will arrange everything in our lives around our work schedules but what about when it comes to God’s work? We get so focused sometimes on our jobs that we forget our job isn’t our resource but God is the resource. Anyone who knows me also knows that my commitment to God is the most important thing to me. I recently had to make a decision with my very own work schedule being changed at the last minute it came down to work or God’s work for me. I choose to use vacation time to pursue God’s agenda because if we can plan things around our work schedule we should be willing to rearrange our schedules to do God’s will. We must be careful not allow our earthly commitments to intervene with our spiritual commitments. God desires to see your commitment to him and with that he will reward you according to 1 Samuel 12:24. God desires your time and talents as you serve him and I’m not saying to neglect your job duties but I am saying pursue God’s agenda first. We must understand our commitment to serve is always a priority even when it may be challenging we must whatever to be obedient to the Holy Spirit. If God desire is for you to be somewhere and you do the opposite then you have just missed God. Your mind will always have you considering what you have to take care of naturally first but the Holy Spirit will lead you into take care of God’s agenda first. We only prosper as our soul prospers according to 3 John 1:2. We must be serious about our commitment to God and honor him in doing so and never place anything above his work. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. No matter how young or old we are we should always maintain a passion for serving God and fulfilling his agenda above all things. Once we truly begin to operate in this manner then we can be confident of what is stated in Psalms 37:25 and stand on it. Be diligent in your works for God and your commitment to God for you will be rewarded according to Proverbs 12:14. Don’t stop and be diligent in your works for God and you will be rewarded according to Proverbs 12:14. Never let anything be above God’s agenda in your life. Stand with boldness and confident of his ability to provide and lead into the things that are of his will for your life. I say to you today acknowledge God in all things and be passionate about your commitment for his plans is to give you an expected end.

Quote: Commitment keeps us accountable to the will of God for our lives. If there is no commitment then we become a danger to ourselves and leave ourselves vulnerable for the enemy.
